Île de Loisirs de Buthiers, close to Fontainebleau, Melun and Paris, offers a natural paradise just an hour from the capital. Nestled in the heart of the Gâtinais Français regional nature park, this destination offers a 140-hectare lake and a multitude of sports and water sports activities, as well as accrobranche and climbing courses. Ideal for an adventurous day out with friends or a family getaway, it also offers accommodation for individuals, companies and communities, as well as the organization of a variety of events such as birthdays, seminars and bachelor parties.
With the Olympic Games on the horizon, the year 2024 promises to be rich in sporting and leisure events, making the Île de Loisirs de Buthiers a must-see destination for lovers of the great outdoors and relaxation. It was against this backdrop that they called on our agency, Smotly, to update their website.

The Buthiers leisure island website had a number of shortcomings when it came to providing users with a good customer experience. Navigation was complex, and key information was difficult to access. The existing web design suffered from a lack of dynamism and uniformity between the site's different pages, which prevented the site from establishing a distinctive visual identity.

A good website is first and foremost one that users can understand. Defining an effective tree structure is an essential step when redesigning a website, in order to improve the user experience, facilitate navigation, optimize performance and ensure a coherent site.
For the Buthiers leisure island site, we redesigned the site tree structure based on the identification of the main users: private individuals, public authorities and private companies. All the elements needed for their research were highlighted in the main menu, with the addition of a top section on the menu to display practical information and the leisure center's social networks.
All background elements have been inserted and processed directly within the corresponding pages, so that the user benefits from a structured, airy site.
Thanks to a complete overhaul of the existing site, a fresh new look has been created that reflects the identity of Buthiers: dynamism, nature and fun!

Entering the final content: before the final stage of putting the site online, the leisure center updated the content to match the news at the time of going online.
One of the main difficulties encountered by the Buthiers teams until now was the complexity of updating the website and its content. This had a real impact on internal management for employees, and on the user experience, with a site that lacked coherence and structure.
Thanks to this redesign and the choice of WordPress, we were able to create a website that not only reflects the image of the leisure island, but can also be easily edited by Buthiers' in-house teams. The back office was developed to give them maximum autonomy in managing and editing content. They can now create pages, modify visual and textual content, and add sections with ease, using pre-built blocks to ensure consistent results and maximum satisfaction!
