A site redesigned to reflect MITB's personality

After a first e-commerce site in dark mode, MITB has chosen to go from dark to light with a complete redesign of its website. The dark mode, a trend in recent years, now gives way to lighter, airier designs. 

Although functional, the MITB site has been optimized to present an e-commerce shop with maximum customer experience: efficient categorization, complete product sheet, recommendations and suggestions, reassurance, FAQ, ... 

 

For this redesign, MITB once again entrusted us with the task of putting a brand new version of the website online, with clearly defined objectives. The roadmap was as follows:
  • Build a new web design in clear mode reflecting modernity, dynamism and energy to address the target audience
  • Enhance customer experience with comprehensive product sheets
  • Make customization easy by creating your own kit in just a few clicks
  • Develop SEO zones to facilitate referencing and improve brand awareness

A luminous web design for immediate emotions

The entire web design was reviewed to achieve the new version of the MITB site. Together, our teams built a moodboard to highlight the main values and guidelines to be applied to energize the site. 

After the wireframe stage, all the models were created and designed on the basis of the available content. Communication was also updated to address a young, dynamic and active target audience.

A customized methodology

For this project, the working method was completely adapted to define together the technical and functional scope of action necessary to set up a new version of the site.

Identify requirements and specifications Requirements and specifications: briefing, analysis and assessment of existing situation -> strengths, weaknesses, gaps.

Creating a moodboard From the 1st workshop, we co-created a moodboard to identify the charter to be deployed on the site and the paths to follow.

Definition of wireframes: still on the basis of the 1st workshop, we built the wireframes for the site, taking into account the strengths of the existing site to be retained and best practices for e-commerce sites. 

Confirmation of mock-ups: presentation and modification of mock-ups to obtain the version to be developed. 

A integration in line with the validated mock-ups, with insertion of shared content and transfer of existing data.

A beta version tested for end-to-end quality control.

E-commerce + functionality for an optimal user experience

For this redesign, we were able to build on the initial feedback from the online and functional site. The headless architecture enabled by BigCommerce was retained to maintain the same level of freedom as well as the site's SEO and technical performance. (And by the way, if you'd like to know more about BigCommerce or headless architecture, we'll explain it all on our blog). 

To complete the first version, a new feature has been integrated: the creation of a kit by the end-customer in complete autonomy. Once on the bulb page, customers can now personalize their kit by choosing the bases available for the bulb. 

Other features have been introduced to enhance the customer experience: 

  • Complete product sheets with an optimal image grid for full product visualization. Reassurance elements have been added for delivery and payment. 
  • Precise filtering and sorting to facilitate customer searches 
  • Highlighting Avis Vérifiés product and brand reviews. These reviews are highlighted on search engines via rich snippets for effective referencing. 
  • The ability to order products on shop pages. Elements can choose to highlight the products of its choice according to its editorial calendar and sales strategy. 
  • Payment in several instalments free of charge via Paypal 
  • A multilingual site thanks to Weglot
