Pool Planet, the specialist in intelligent pool equipment

Founded in 2010, Poolplanet offers innovative, high-performance equipment specially designed for pool maintenance and use. On its website, the company offers a wide range of professional-quality references for private customers, at discounted prices: from lighting and water treatment to filtration and cleaning. Thanks to product connectivity, customers reduce their consumption of water, electricity and chemicals, saving money and minimizing their ecological impact with a healthier, less chemical pool.

In addition to product quality, PoolPlanet offers its customers support throughout the life of their equipment, so that they can enjoy the pleasures of the pool.

A high-performance, responsive site

In order to support its customers throughout the entire life cycle of their equipment, and even beyond, the PoolPlanet website had to be fluid, simple and fast to navigate. The Prestashop solution previously used by the company was no longer adapted to its needs, proving to be limiting and outdated.

There were a number of objectives to achieve optimum customer satisfaction. Among them, PoolPlanet wanted to :

Detailed, well-constructed product sheets,

Accessible advice prioritized by type of need,

A constraint-free shopping experience: add to cart, complementary products, multiple payments, delivery options,

A mobile-first strategy: with impeccable responsive adaptation.

A new design

Prior to the project, redesign work was carried out by the customer to build an intelligent layout adapted to Poolplanet's needs, content and user paths.

Our teams then integrated all the pages, respecting the desired web design, to bring these models to life and showcase:

A color palette based on corporate blue
A dynamic search with wave animation
A font that respects the brand's charter

This development was carried out on the chosen solution BigCommerce, the most powerful and innovative e-commerce solution on the market.

A BigCommerce headless site: flexibility and autonomy

BigCommerce quickly emerged as the most appropriate solution to meet customer needs and avoid falling back into the aging technical constraints of Prestashop. Thanks to this solution, the PoolPlanet site was designed and integrated in headless mode. In other words, the front and back ends are completely decoupled, freeing us from all technical constraints and allowing us to integrate all the customer's technical and design requirements. And that's not the only advantage, since this decoupling has enabled us to set up a responsive and mobile-friendly site via a PWA version, which in turn has enabled us to attract more captive customers and increase conversions.

In a few words, the redesign of the site by the Smotly teams has enabled PoolPlanet to :

Greater flexibility and agility thanks to an open SaaS model and headless architecture
Expand its functional scope with the implementation of marketplaces (ManoMano, Leroy Merlin, Truffaut) and customer service management tools (online chat, after-sales service and ticket management).
Offer a unique mobile experience with a Progressive Web App

The methodology

Throughout the project, we worked in an agile manner, thanks to a phase of scoping and analysis of the functional scope. For each deliverable, we went back and forth to perfect the rendering. This agile approach enabled us to gain in flexibility to guarantee the quality and conformity of the delivered functionalities.

The project +

A host of features to enhance the customer experience

Poolplanet places the customer experience and relationship at the heart of its strategy. With this in mind, the brand's website had to present a fluid user path in line with customers' profiles, so that they could find everything they needed at the click of a button.

The new site features a number of functionalities, particularly in terms of product sheets. Depending on the product category, dynamic filters enable customers to select product options. Suggestions for related and complementary products, as well as advice, accompany and reassure customers, as do the chatbot and the anchor of verified reviews.

This e-commerce site project also involves managing flows between the BigCommerce interface, Dolibarr ERP, marketplaces and DPD for deliveries.

Obviously, as the number of mobile users increases, the PoolPlanet site is available on mobile in the form of a Progressive Web App. In addition to adapting to all screen sizes, the mobile version of the website benefits from all the advantages of an application (speed, referencing, updating, geolocation...) without the drawbacks.
